A collection of Uqad
For Fels, Dima and Hollow Forms created Knots عقد - a collection of 4 intricately twisted black glass vessels, each entirely unique. Designed during the second full lockdown of the COVID 19 pandemic - a time where people of the world had a lot of time to think about themselves, their values, their traumas and goals - the collection is inspired by inner workings and recognition of the internal knots we all have. Each sculpture possesses different stages of tension with some knots looser than others.
In Arabic, knot is translated as عقد (uqad). Uqad is assigned to people who have unresolved tensions from their past and are often cast aside, looked down upon and judged. However, everyone lives with uqad and the collection recognises this; celebrating these personal knots and the time we now have to untangle them.
