Hollow Forms IV

Almost Roman:

Restitution & Forgeries II

The collection is inspired by Roman vessels and jugs found in multiple global museum collections. The colors used are extracted from Villa Poppeia’s wall frescos in Pompeii and aims to capture the essence of the natural materials used in Roman glass as well as natural dyes including plant ash, dried herbs, and natural rocks and minerals. The forms are slightly adjusted to bring them into the contemporary age. Surprisingly only small adjustments and tweaks are required for the vessel to travel in time from the Roman Empire to today. Each piece is hand blown in Palestine.
